Evan's Journey
When my son, Evan, was in the 10th grade, doctors found a tumor in his ear and nose. He had surgeries, radiation treatments, chemo and immunotherapies. Despite this he finished high school, studied Chemical Engineering at UC Berkeley as a Regents' Scholar, played piano and basketball, skateboarded and snowboarded, and made friends along the way.
Community
He “gamaned” as his grandmother would say. That means persevered in Japanese. Throughout our challenges, many have shown us compassion. Nurses, doctors, medical personnel, churches, and complete strangers prayed for and supported Evan.
Paying it Forward
Their love has inspired me to do the same for others on their Cancer journey. I started LOVE, EVAN to give acts of service and remind others "Ganbatte (be your best), we're in this together."

-Love, Tracy Niizawa (Evan's Mom)
